Seven souls, one campaign

Souls — pick the death you want to learn.

In Pixel Souls, a "soul" is more than HP and damage. Each of the seven heroes has their own animation set, their own stamina economy, their own boss matchup curve and their own way to die. Picking a soul is picking the discipline you want to master.

Seven heroes

Seven souls, seven combat languages.

Pixel Souls ships with seven hand-built heroes. Each one is fully playable from the start of the campaign — no gacha, no unlock grind. The differences are in frame data, range and how forgiving (or not) each one is.

  • Pixel Knight — the discipline

Sword and shield. Balanced stamina, balanced range, balanced damage. The best soul to learn the genre on.

  • Fallen Knight — the punishment

Heavier weapon, slower windups, bigger payoffs. Misread one boss tell and you eat a phase.

  • Ocean Knight — the spell

Magic-leaning soul with a long-range attack and a reactive defensive spell. Trades stamina depth for crowd control.

  • Dark Knight — the speed

Quick, low-recovery slashes and a slide attack. Built for players who want to be inside the boss, not outside.

  • Inquisitor — the precision

Fast strikes, tight i-frame windows, low health pool. Rewards perfect rolls, punishes anything else.

  • Samurai — the duel

Unsheathe-on-attack moveset. Long animations, real recovery. Designed for one-on-one boss duels.

FAQ

Souls — questions.

  • How many playable souls are in Pixel Souls?

Seven: Pixel Knight, Fallen Knight, Ocean Knight, Dark Knight, Inquisitor, Samurai and Spear Master. All are playable from the start.

  • Are any souls locked behind payment?

No. Every hero is available in the free download. There is one optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock the full campaign, but no hero is paywalled.

  • Which soul should I start with?

Pixel Knight. The frame data, range and stamina cost are the most balanced and the best starting point for the genre.

  • Can I switch souls mid-campaign?

Yes. Soul switching happens at the campfire between runs. Your progression carries over, but the boss curve will feel different on each soul.

  • Will more souls be added?

New souls ship with each new world. World 2 introduces a new playable hero alongside its boss.

  • Where can I play it?

Android, free on Google Play. iOS is coming soon.
